In this exercise we’re going to be getting into editing the parcel display order in civil 3D currently I’m in the 10 parcel-3a drawing which is located in your tutorials folder or you can find a link to it down in the description below and we have our site that we’ve dealt with in the past when it came to alignments but I want to draw your attention to your tool space expand sites expand site 1 and then we’re going to be looking at Parcels expand this if you look underneath Parcels we have single family lots and we have standard Lots if we zoom in you can see that there are different colors assigned to single family lots as opposed to the standard Lots so what we’re going to do is we’re going to actually manipulate the display order of our Parcels we can do that by going up into our Parcels then right click select properties then we get our site parcel properties dialog box and we have the display order for all of our parcels right here it says parcel style display order what I would like to do is I would like to put standard as a priority over the single family lots I want to hit this Arrow to bring it to the top hit apply and you can see now that the blue standard lots are now over the pink lot lines for the single family lots I’m going to do the same thing for my road want to select Road bring that to the top and for property I’m going to bring that all the way to the top as well I’ll hit apply then okay and now you can see we have a different look when it comes to the look of our Parcels this can be very helpful when you’re looking to kind of color code your Lots say for a master plan or some sort of presentation drawing to where you’re actually utilizing a lot of these colors within the parcel styles
