To grade in this exercise, start with the streamlined, offset footprint and work your way down to the existing ground level.
Compared to the initial footprint, the geometry of the stepped offset feature line is far less complex. As opposed to grading made from the original footprint, one constructed using the simpler feature line geometry will be more simpler.
